Holey Crochet and Macrame Trend in 2011

Everybody knows what crochet and macramé are. I guess there is one exception… me. Well, the problem is that I don’t know these two English words but I do know what they are. So, I googled them. There you go.

For those who don’t really know what crochet and macramé. Crochet is a process of creating fabric from yarn using crochet hook. Macramé is made by knotting the main fabric to great visual affect. It's a craft most often associated with 19th century sailors, who made all kinds of macramé objects in their spare time - with shipping rope, or from leather, yarn, twine or other sturdy materials. Macramé is mostly used for accessories and objects; because it's constructed of knots it can be bulky and have little stretch to it. Nevertheless, 2011 sees it used on clothing and accessories alike.

We've already mentioned that the main thematic inspirations behind the trend are the hippy seventies and the early sailors of the seven seas. But what to pair your pieces? Here are two tips for you.

1.     Pair a crochet top or vest with an updated pair of bell bottoms and a floppy felt hat

2.     Macramé with a pair of denim shorts in summer 2011.

2011 Spring Biker Chic Looks

Trends begin, they evolve, and then they fade or simply become a standard. Skinny jeans became a standard. The answer may lie in a trend that has been around for some time, but a trend that hasn't been able to be much more than a blip on the radar while in the shadow of military fashion. The trend? Biker chic. Of course, just because the biker chic trend is about more than Brando jackets and black motorcycle jackets doesn't mean to say that the trend is completely devoid of both styles.

Spearheaded by a number of design houses, including Burberry, the main element of the men's version of trend are statement jackets - unlike women's where we've also seen a number of additional pieces. The color palette is much muted as well: it's all black, in order to match the jacket.

And last but not least, motorcycle boots round out the key elements of the biker fashion trend - hardly a surprise given no trend is complete without a tie-in shoe trend. Biker boots, having been in fashion for some time now, won't be hard to come by. You could consider that a plus, but don't rest on your laurels.

2011 Summer Short Hairstyle Trend I

Yesterday, my girl friend called me and asked me my opinion on whether she should cut her hair short or not. The answer from me is YES. Please cut your hair short. I had been having long hair for a good 20+ years. Or I should say I never had short hairstyle before, well except the first 2 years after I was born. I got a hair cut about 8 months ago. Cut it from long to very short. It’s a lot easier to take care and save some shampoo too J I think my friend is a little tired of her long hair. Then why not cut it short, try something different. Hair style could change someone’s whole presentation. If you don’t like the short style, it will grow back~~~

Summer is almost here. Having long hair is sexy but I did find it annoying during summer time. Here are some mid to short hairstyles trend in 2011 summer.

Wall Climbing at Stone Summit

Woke up around 8:30 this morning. Oh, man! It’s so early. But couldn’t sleep anymore. So, here I am, blogging :)

My fingers, my arms, my shoulders , and my “six pack” are so sour. And, my arms are swollen. Not that much, but I can feel it. Went to wall climbing with my friend yesterday at Stone Summit. It was a lot fun. Everything looks so easy for him. He is tall with long arms and long legs. I am……. Well, I don’t wanna talk about it J He hurt his finger. I wish everything is ok now. But, I had a lot of fun. Thank you, AR.

Stone Summit is the Disney World of climbing. They are both cheap imitations of the real thing, but no one can deny their appeal. At only 12 bucks a person, I recommend that anyone in the Southeast make at least one trip to see this thing. This place isn't big. It is not even huge. It is massive. Stone Summit features a route that requires a 70 meter rope. Not only does the main wall top 60 feet at its highest point, but there is a second story above the lobby featuring multiple 30 foot walls.

Wall climbing, why do I like wall climbing? First of all, I recently got a lot of free time in my hands. Second of all, I need to work out. The last but the most important one is that wall climbing is very goal oriented. I want to keep myself positive and happy J
